Super Junior’s Hankyung requests to terminate his contract

Looks like SM Entertainment just might lose another star... After the JaeChunSu trio turned their backs against their company in regards to their unfair contract, Hankyung ofSuper Junior has now decided to follow in their footsteps.

According to a related source in China, Hankyung filed a request to fully terminate the validity of his contract at noon on the 21st. The press stated,

"No specific details have yet been released towards this termination request. However, it is likely the reason is because of the unfairness the contract holds in regards to Hankyung's personal development."

So what do you guys think? Is Super Junior finally reaching its end, downfall after downfall? I guess we'll just have to see.

SM Entertainment promises to solve dispute with Hankyung

As we keep you updated on the issue revolving around Hankyung’s disposition with SM Entertainment, we have recently found out that SME has come out with a statement consoling fans that they will talk with Hankyung regarding his request to terminate his contract.

On a phone conversation with Newsen, SME stated,

"For the sake of Super Junior, we will solve the issue at hand by talking with Hankyung personally."

Earlier today, the Chinese media was the first to report this newsbreaking story and since then, they’ve dug a bit into Hankyung’s past. They’ve revealed that Hankyung was scouted through the ‘H.O.T. China Auditions’ and was chosen out of 3,000 other auditionees. Through this, he ultimately became Korea’s first Chinese entertainer with a formal debut. And since last April of 2008, Hankyung’s existence in Super Junior M has had a great impact on SME as he helped them expand into the Chinese market.

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun leaves a cryptic message on CyWorld?

A few hours ago, Super Junior member Hankyung requested to terminate his contract with SM Entertainment this evening, and it seems like the situation has spread since then - although no one is exactly sure how to interpret this message yet, fellow SuJu member Kyuhyun recently posted a mysterious update in English on his CyWorld fresh after the dispute.

When one clears the (adorable) graphics off of the blog post, Kyuhyun's message clearly reads,

Even a beast don't bite the hand that feeds one...

I can not understand...

So is this post alluding to Hankyung's relationship with SM Entertainment or are we jumping to conclusions? You be the judge.

Many thanks to lana for the tip.

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun shuts down his Cyworld

After leaving a cryptic, or rather, a blatantly obvious message in favor of SM Entertainment over the shocking Hankyung ordeal, Kyuhyun has shut down his Cyworld minihompy.

Although Kyuhyun's message was correct for the most part (there's a reason why it's a popular saying), we can only assume he has received a massive amount of hate and criticism from Super Junior faithfuls (E.L.F), for leaving a message in support of SM.

With that said, his minihompy is now shut down and a simple message has been left behind.

옳은 길로 가길 바라는
마음이었을 뿐인데..

무섭다..

Taking the right path is the
only thing that I wished for...

Scary...

What do you guys think, is Kyuhyun right or wrong? Are SM Entertainment artists becoming too greedy for their own good? After all, they all knew what they were getting into from the start.

Thanks to lana for the heads up.

Hankyung tells his fans to not worry through Cyworld

Amidst all the drama that has ensued following the news that Hankyung had requested to have his contract with SM Entertainment terminated, the man himself has spoken on his Cyworld about his current state of mind.

Hankyung posted on his Cyworld:

I am fine right now, I know that all of you are there for me!

I love you all ~~~

Not much else was said but I am sure his fans will still be anxious about the ensuing developments that will probably spill over into 2010.

Interview with Hankyung’s legal representatives

We've previously reported that Hankyung of Super Junior requested that his contract be voided. Daily Joongang of Korea tried to reach Hankyung but was unable to reach him as he is currently in China. Instead, they were able to speak with his legal representatives.

- We heard that two separate actions were taken.
"To put it simply, the first action seeks to relieve him from the unfair contract and the second action asks to suspend the contract until the decision is made for the first one so that Hankyung may act on his individual will for the time being."

- When did Hankyung start planning on this action?
"We cannot answer that. We can only answer within the boundaries of what is described on the file."

- His arguments are the same as that of the three members of TVXQ / DBSK?
"Very similar. Hankyung also has 13 year contract with unfair terms."

- Did Hankyung have any contacts with the three members?
"We're not sure. He will soon release an official statement so wait for that."

- Has the date for the first trial been decided yet?
"The file did not even fully go through yet. DBSK's case took about two and a half months until a partial ruling was given and we expect about the same amount of time to be taken for this case. DBSK's case had numerous negotiations for settlements and couple trials so it took longer than usual. We hope that Hankyung's case would not be so long."

- Does Hankyung want to continue as Super Junior or does he want out?
"We don't know. Nothing has been decided in terms of Super Junior."

- We heard that he is preparing for solo activities in China.
"We haven't heard anything about that."

Stay tuned to Allkpop as the case develops.

Han Geng's contract termination just a cover-up of SJ-M's latest scandal?

Source: Ifeng
Translation: Sarah @ http://asianfanatics.net

Yesterday, news broke out that Super Junior member Han Geng submitted a formal application to court, wishing to terminate his contract with management company SM Entertainment. This left the public very puzzled and fans also did not understand why he took this action. But immediately after this, SJ-M’s ‘happy gate’ scandal was exposed, and left everyone thinking whether this whole contract termination ordeal is just to cover up SJ-M’s scandal and divert the public’s attention.

SJ-M is Super Junior’s 3rd sub-unit, designated to target the Chinese market. Under Han Geng’s lead, SJ-M have developed successfully in China, and they even have their own exclusive fan club. Recently, SJ-M attended various award ceremonies in China & Taiwan. On the 19th of December, the 53rd Asia Pacific Film Festival was held in Kaohsiung and SJ-M were invited as special guests. The whole process seemed to go very smoothly, however a 6.8 magnitude earthquake suddenly struck Taiwan and became the fuse of the ‘happy gate’ scandal.

After the awards ceremony, during an interview, SJ-M member Zhou Mi laughed saying: “When the earthquake struck just then, it was just like playing.” Moreover, Zhou Mi even used last year’s Si Chuan earthquake as comparison, saying: “Last year, when we were promoting in China, we also met an earthquake, and it was pretty happy.” And Han Geng who was beside him immediately rushed forward to clarify: “He (Zhou Mi) doesn’t mean happy.” However, it was too late, as everything was already recorded by the media.

After the scandal was exposed online, SJ-M have remained silent. When reporters contacted SJ-M’s performance representative, he said that he is currently on vacation, and is unclear about the situation, and is also inconvenient for him to disclose anything. And SJ-M’s Korean manager has yet to answer his phone.

But coincidentally, yesterday, all the major Chinese news sites published the Han Geng contract termination news at almost exactly the same time. And according to one of the new site’s entertainment editor, she revealed that the news was provided by SJ-M’s side, and that they even specified the location to where the news would be published to make it as eye-catching as possible.

It's not a surprise since JaeChunSu won their lawsuit, Hankyung may thought this is his chance to get away as well. If SM is as great as they all claimed it to be, why are the singers fighting to get off and get into so much trouble. So much to say about SM.

More members of Super Junior stand up to SM Entertainment?

While the fact that Hankyung has decided to take legal actions against SM Entertainment is true without a doubt, we have also received tips about a rumor that five more members of Super Junior are joining Hankyung in filing lawsuits against SME. Those five members are Kangin, Eunhyuk, Leeteuk, Donghae and Yesung, according to sina.com, a Chinese online news portal.

Another rumour claims that Super Junior M will temporarily disband and Henry will pursue individual project by teaming up with Zhang Li Yin.

These are rumours that should be received with high dose of skepticism as no Korean news sources have reported on this matter.

Stay tuned to allkpop as the case develops.

Suju’s Hankyung wants out because of SNSD?

A Chinese news site reported what seems to be a rumor about Hankyung and SNSD. Long story short, the article indicated that Hankyung's real reason for wanting to terminate his contract was not just an unfair contract, but mistreatment by SNSD members.

Many Korean fans are questioning whether or not this story on sohu.com was created to intentionally hurt SNSD. Sohu.com reported:

Hankyung wants to leave SM Entertainment not only because of his contract, but because of the mistreatment from other artists of the company. It's been reported that he has been receiving hurtful comments from SNSD for some time. He was disregarded by people after working very hard and developed psychological disorders.

Sohu.com continued,

Because of the disorders, he wanted to take a break but they denied his request. SNSD has always been sarcastic and used satire against him. For example, they would say to him, "Oppa! Do you think you can look Korean by dyeing your hair blonde?" Comments of this nature hurt Hankyung and he couldn't take it anymore.

One netizen said, "It seems like Chinese press is trying to make Koreans look bad. This is an article that is trying to twist the truth."

So what do you think? Is there a hint of truth in this story or is it absolutely ridiculous?

Antis try to split apart SM?

A Chinese media site previously reported that Hankyung had problems with SNSD, but now another Chinese media site has caught on and defamed the article as the work of antis.

According to the new post, it looks like it was all a classic play of out of context quotes.

The original article pointed out a lot of situations that had arisen between SNSD and Hankyung, but every one of those situations was refuted and disproved.

----------------------------

The previous article was just the work of antis trying to frame SNSD. The original article was posted on a Chinese fan site and a shady media source published it.

Original article:

Back when Super Junior debuted, they had an interview with a Korean media source. When they were interviewed, Hankyun was asked, "Have you met any problems while working in Korea?"
Hankyung responded positively, but Heechul added, "There was one time when we were in the dressing room and SNSD came in and seeing Hankyung's yellow hair, Taeyeon shouted, "Oppa what did you do? Do you think that you look Korean with yellow hair?"

New Source:

The truth is that Hankyung had yellow hair in 2006 while SNSD debuted in 2007 (when Hankyung had white hair). Because SNSD hadn't even been active while Hankyung had yellow hair, how would they be using the same dressing room?

Original Article:

On a variety show, Hankyung was introduced as a multi-talented artist and he showcased a Chinese folk dance.

Taeyeon said, "Oh is Chinese folk dance this simple?" While Jessica added, "Even kids can do a dance like that!"

All 9 girls started laughing.

New Source:

Hankyung has only performed a Chinese folk dance 3 times in Korea, and 2 of those times were before SNSD debuted! The third time he performed, the only female music guest was Lee Sooyoung (not SNSD's Choi Sooyoung)

Original Article:

During an SM Town interview, the interviewer asked Hankyung if he was teaching people how to speak Chinese when SNSD said in a mocking tone, "We're teaching him Korean instead."
SNSD was rude and used a disrespectful tone throughout the interview.

New Source:

There was no SM Town interview with the two together. What the quotes were taken from was a SNSD exclusive interview by TOM娱乐.

The interview went like this:

Interviewer: "I've heard that you've been learning Chinese from Hankyun. Has he been helping you?"

Tiffany: "We don't get to meet him very often and when we do we exchange greetings. We ask members he's close to about his recent activities."
Hyoyeon: "We're promoting in Korea so shouldn't we be teaching him Korean?"

All this was said in a polite and respectful tone.

Original Article:

YoonA said to Hankyung when they first met, "Why are you Chinese flocking to Korea? You're in SM because you have looks right? I really don't understand. I thought China had a huge market."
Heechul stated in a Japanese interview that he was dissappointed in YoonA's words.

New Source:

There has been no such incident. This is purely fiction created by antis.

Source

Another rumor debunked. It's a good thing that all these false rumors were cleared up quickly and effectively. SM doesn't need anymore drama, don't you agree?

SM Entertainment’s official statement regarding Hankyung and SNSD

SM Entertainment has been plagued with scandal after scandal this year.

With the recent report from Sohu.com claiming that SNSD members were a main factor for Hankyung wanting to leave Super Junior, SM Entertainment has released an official statement that the report was completely fabricated.

On the 27th, SM Entertainment stated:

"The reports regarding SNSD are completely false. It's extremely disappointing and upsetting that such a report would surface between the members of our own family."

In regards to Hankyung's absence on the December 26th year end MBC Music Core special:

SM Entertainment refutes Super Junior lawsuit claims

In reponse to widespread rumors circulating that 5 other Super Junior members besides Hankyung had also filed lawsuits against SM Entertainment for unfair contract terms, the latter has issued a strongly worded statement on 29th December to refute the claims.

In the aftermath of Hankyung filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment, there were reports afterwards that 5 other Super Junior members, Leeteuk, Yesung, Kangin, Eunhyuk and Donghae had done likewise. It also stated that because of Hankyung's nationality, his case was made public first before the others.

But SM Entertainment has issued a strong rebuttal stating that the news report claiming that 5 Super Junior members had filed lawsuits against them for unfair contracts were fabricated and untrue. And if such fabricated reports are published again in future, SM Entertainment will seek legal action against the publisher and the reporter.

The statement was signed off by SM Entertainment's CEO Kim Young Min and the affected Super Junior members.

[News] Hankyung’s Contract Termination Lawsuit Starts in Court; No Outcome So Far

The Korean Court has commenced its hearing of Han Geng’s lawsuit and his submission of an “agreement to suspend his contract”, but at present there is temporarily no definite outcome. Up to now, SM Corporation is yet to submit a pleading in response. It appears that it is unknown when there will be an outcome from the contract termination lawsuit between Han Geng and his company, fans will still need to wait calmly.
