SHINee’s Key Reveals New Album Look

After fellow SHINee members Minho, Onew, Taemin, and Jonghyun revealed their new look for their new album, "2009, Year of Us," Key has finally revealed his own look!

You will see that he does a 180° radical transformation. The last time you saw him, he had blonde permed hair. His new look reveals a black, unbalanced-cut hair with a bit of dye of violet color. He also has a smoky makeup which reveals his attractive eyes and harmonizes with the monotone feel.

SHINee's 4th track song in their comeback album, called, "Get Down," will have Key and Minho showing their rapping skills - almost as if they are having a rap battle. What is more interesting is that f(x)'s Luna will be featured, showing her sensational vocals.

SHINee will debut with "Ring Ding Dong" on the 16th through KBS2TV's Music Bank.

SHINee’s comeback song ‘Ring Ding Dong’ up #1 on realtime charts right after reveal

SHINee has gone up to the #1 spot on music chart as soon as they come back.

SHINee’s comeback 3rd minialbum ‘2009, Year of Us’ title song ‘Ring Ding Dong’ was revealed on 14th October. As soon as the song was revealed, it went up to #1 on Cyworld realtime chart, receiving overwhelming responses from netizens and fans. The song is also going up fast on other various music charts

SHINee is back with a new image this time for their comeback. They are showing strong transformation, with new image and also new sound. The song ‘Ring Ding Dong’ is an Afro-electro genre song with African drums and grooves.

The ‘Ring Ding Dong’ in the song represents the bell sounds that will ring in one’s head at the moment one falls in love.

The group will have their comeback stage performing ‘Ring Ding Dong’ on 16th October on KBS Music Bank.

SHINee's MV for their comeback song "Ring Ding Dong," which was delayed yesterday, is finally released!

The teaser is made up of highlights from the MV, as it will reveal a different, mysterious, yet more matured looks of SHINee members. The radical transformed members will also show a trendy and stylish choreographies as it was filmed in a filming set in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do.

"Ring Ding Dong" has been a hit since it's release on the 14th, taking 1st place in Cyworld BGM's hot topics, as well as ranking high in music charts among the music portal sites.

Due to release their newest mini-album on the 19th this month, SHINee recently accepted an exclusive interview with SOHU Korea. This is the second meeting between SOHU and SHINee, since the last interview in September 2008, and one year was all it took for the five boys to mature and shed the cute image they had during their debut days.

When talking about the soon-to-be released mini-album, members said: “We’ll show off a more mature, manly kind of style.”

SHINee: (Bows) Hello everyone, we’re SHINee!

SOHU: This is the second time interviewing SHINee since the Shanghai stop of the SMTOWN concert last year in September. Has everyone’s Chinese improved since then? Can you guys show off what you’ve learnt, then?

Jonghyun: Then, let’s say whatever Chinese words that are appearing in our minds right now!

Onew: Hmmm… For me, I’ll almost always think of “I Love You” first.

Jonghyun: Ah, you seem to keep repeating that.

Onew: Then what are you thinking of?

Jonghyun: (Chinese) 我想你 I miss you. It means that I miss everyone. Then… how about Key?

Key: (Chinese) 你很漂亮 You are pretty. It means “pretty”, right?

Jonghyun: Ah, it means pretty? (Turns to Key) You’re very pretty.

Taemin: As for me, because I really want to go to China… (Chinese) 我想去中國 “I want to go to China”.

Jonghyun: Ah, wanting to go to China! (Everybody joins in)

Minho: Me…

Jonghyun: You wouldn’t say stuff like “I’m hungry”, or anything like that, would you?

Minho: No, no, that’d be too direct. (Chinese) 請支持我們 “Please support us”.

Jonghyun: And that’s what we’ve learnt.

SOHU: Now what everyone’s most concerned about is the soon-to-be-released mini-album. Can you guys tell us about the concept? From your images to the styles of the songs, will they be more mature?

Jonghyun: For this mini-album, all of us will undergo a huge change, and show everyone sides of us that haven’t been seen before. So please anticipate it, everyone. And Onew will tell us about the concept this time round, just to reveal a tiny bit.

Onew: For the songs this time round, the vocal ranges will be lowered just a little, and the choreography of the dance will help to show off our stylish and cool sides, along with the melody of the song. So everyone, just have a little more patience and wait a little more, please!

Jonghyun: We’re manlier this time, that should be it.

Key: Also, we hear that our ROMEO album is going to be released for sale soon in China, so please support us.

SOHU: You guys have lots of fans in Mainland China, and recently you’ve been to Taiwan for promotional activities as well. Have you guys ever thought of returning to China another time, to meet with your fans again?

Jonghyun: Definitely, if we have the time and the opportunity. We really wish to be able to travel to different countries and areas to meet our international fans. And every time we manage to do so, we get to experience their passion and energy, and we’ll be really happy and gain lots of strength from our fans too.

Onew: We’ve been on promotional activities in Taiwan, Thailand and Japan, and we’ve been thinking of China, so we hope to go back someday.

SOHU: Fans have been saying, SHINee is really good-looking, but they’re too thin, and they worry for your health. How do you guys usually keep healthy?

Jonghyun: We get our strength from rice, usually, right? (Everyone laughs) When you get full from eating rice, you’ll be healthy.

Taemin: We have our proper three meals everyday, and we don’t snack either. Thank you everyone for your concern.

Jonghyun: That’s true, and we have sufficient rest as well. When we have time, we’ll chat and having this type of healthy mindset, is the key to having good health, right?

SOHU: The photobook shoots in New Zealand were very stylish indeed. Were there any funny incidents during the trip there?

Jonghyun: We spent a week in New Zealand, and experienced the local culture there. Onew, what was the thing that left the deepest impression on you?

Onew: It has to be the food; I remember the seafood there so well…

Jonghyun: Yes yes, it was really delicious. Key?

Key: The New Zealand landscape was really special, so to me it was more than enough that I had the chance to go there. And we took the chance to rest as well.

Jonghyun: Uh huh, what about Minho?

Minho: The scenery of New Zealand was eye opening for me, and ever since we returned I’ve started to like sleeping early because of the jetlag and time difference.

SOHU: Ever since SHINee’s debut, you guys have been really fashionable. Are there any fashion tips you want to share?

Jonghyun: Ah… Key will answer this question!

Key: If you have to talk about the secret to being fashionable, our album concepts actually influence our personal dressing styles. Like we wore lots of accessories for the JULIETTE concept, so I wear lots of trinkets and stuff when I dress for going out too.

Jonghyun: Uh huh, it does seem to be so.

Key: And if I don’t wear so many accessories, I’d feel like my arm’s really empty and there’s no sense of style at all. (Raises his hand up) For example, I’m only wearing two bands now, and I feel that they aren’t enough. Maybe it’s the lingering influence from our previous concept, so I really feel that our concepts influence our personal tastes in fashion.

SOHU: Members of idol groups have been setting foot in the acting industry recently. Do the members of SHINee have any plans to act as well?

Jonghyun: Our Taemin has already taken on that challenge!

Taemin: I’ve acted in the sitcom , and although it was just for a short period of time, but I still managed to learn more about acting, and got new experience as well. I’ve learnt so much from the acting sunbaes. If there are opportunities, the members of SHINee will do their best to try out acting as well.

SOHU: Lastly, say hi to your fans in China!

Onew: We’ll be coming back with our third mini-album very, very soon, at the end of October, and our albums will also start to be sold in China, so please support SHINee like always, thank you very much! (Bows)

SHINee’s Taemin reveals his ideal type
SHINee Taemin revealed his ideal girl on today's episode of Star Golden Bell.

All members of SHINee came on to talk about their new album as well as other secrets they've been hiding under their blankets.

It was surprising to see the youngest of the five reveal his ideal type but also nice to see Taemin confess like a real man.

The chosen girl was not a fellow idol, a Korean top actress or someone Korean at all!

It was none other Harry's Hermione, Emma Watson.

The MC's told 16-year-old maknae Taemin to send a video message to Emma Watson. Taemin said, "I'm always watching Harry Potter. I really like you. I love you."

I'm sure the fan girls were jealous of the worldwide known actress.

On the same episode, member Key revealed Taemin is really gullible. Key said, "Once we went to a cafe and there was a vibrating sound that came on when your order was ready. He asked me what it was so I lied to him by saying that if you didn't pick up your order fast enough the vibrating sound would explode. And he believed me.

Onew also confessed that he was kissed by comedian Jung Ju Ri. While doing a comedy skit, Jung Ju Ri kissed Onew unexpectedly.

I don't know who to be jealous of, Jung Ju Ri or Emma Watson...

SHINee says SM is a family

SHINee, who recently returned with their 3rd mini-album 2009, Year Of Us and title track Ring Ding Dong, has spoken up on behalf of SM Entertainment.

Joynews24 had conducted an interview with the members of SHINee and asked if they knew about them being called the "puppets" of SME.

SHINee responded with a resounding statement:

That's prejudice against SM Entertainment. SME gives us a lot of say and freedom. Even during our album preparations, they ask us for our opinions. The albums are released under our name and thus it is our music. The public appear to have a predjudice against idols. Just like how the same song, Chocolate Love, can be presented differently by two different groups, SNSD and f(x), we have our own opinion and own colour. The company supports us, no doubt. However, being forced to do something does not and should not happen.

SME helped us a lot in the beginning as we didn't really know what to do. But as we gained more experience, we start to express our opinions. The company reflects our opinions on many things such as the lyrics, pairing of members and our style. Without such supportive environment, we won't be able to sing our songs like we sing them now.

They also expressed their pride in their company:

SME listens to the artists' opinions and everyone is close, unlike other entertainment companies. Everyone respects each other and supports each other, just like you can see in Dream Concert or SM Concert. Artists of SME are trained well from the beginning to the point where people say that SME's artists are very well mannered.

Regarding f(x), a recent rookie group that debuted from SME, SHINee said;

We've seen them since they were trainees but didn't expect them to debut so quickly. Did not think Sulli would be so tall and beautiful, haha. Now we know what it feels like to have juniors, and we can see why groups that are senior to us have been so nice and caring to us. We're following the tradition by giving lots of advice to f(x).

SHINee's Jonghyun confirmed with Swine Flu.

Last night, it was confirmed that SHINee member Jonghyun is diagnosed with Swine Flu,
however is was said that his body condition is not that bad.

It was an Outbreak. In the last 2 days, Jonghyun was said to have symptoms of cold flu and therefore he went to the hospital to be examined. However the results revealed that the member is diagnosed with Swine Flu and is currently resting at home.

SM Manager revealed: In the meantime, since there are alot of activities going through for the group, they will now participate and now perform as 4 members until Jonghyun gets all cured.

Currently Jonghyun is not staying in the same house with his members.

Shinee members are currently performing their latest song 'Ring Ding Dong' since having a comeback last 2 weeks. This is an outbreak especially for the Shinee fans and SHinee members after winning an award on SBS Inkigayo and KBS Music Bank

SHINee’s Jonghyun having a fast recovery

We recently reported that SHINee's Jonghyun was diagnosed with swine flu (H1N1). Fortunately, he is currently showing a fast recovery!

SM Entertainment had a phone call with Newsen on the 4th, stating:

He is currently receiving Tamiflu and other treatments in his home. He wasn't in a serious condition to begin with and because of his strong and fit body, he is showing a fast recovery. The hospital estimated that he will be fully recovered within a week."

SHINee is currently active as a 4 member group. Let's hope that he will recover in time for their performances of Ring Ding Dong on this week's music programs!

SUJU’s Yesung replaces SHINee’s Jonghyun

NOT Permanently, but just for one performance of Ring Ding Dong on the November 6th episode of Music Bank!

The reason? Because Jonghyun is currently recovering from swine flu and Super Senior Junior Yesung wanted to support his little dongsaengs.

Yesung will sing all of Jonghyun's parts live, which we are highly anticipating. Will Yesung be able to mesh well and keep up with the energetic members of SHINee?

SHINee’s Jonghyun is fully recovered

During the four days of Jonghyun's absence due to his diagnosis of swine flu, the fans had to suffer the unbearable emptiness on the stage. Although his spot was filled with Super Junior's Yesung, SHINee did not "shine" as brightly as when they were together. But no worries now! It seems like Jonghyun is finally free from the virus. It has been reported that Jonghyun is now fully recovered from the flu, but not quite to return back to his activities yet.

SM Entertainment stated,

"Jonghyun is fully recovered from the swine flu. However, his physical condition is still not the best, so we will have to see."

Jonghyun showed his strong desire to return on stage as well. Since he could not face the members himself because of the airborne H1N1 virus, he filmed a word of encouragement for his members and called each one of them before the performance. He also delivered a heartfelt apology for not being able to be with them. Now, that's what I call friendship!

Meanwhile, SHINee was recently triple-crowned for their song, Ring Ding Dong for not only on SBS Inkigayo and KBS Music Bank, but also on this month's Mnet's M! Countdown. Hope to see you soon, Jonghyun!

SHINee’s Onew gets Swine Flu

The curse of the swine flu seems to have struck SHINee. Having only just reported hours earlier that Jonghyun had recovered fully from swine flu, it was reported now that SHINee's leader, Onew has also been hit by it.

The announcement came at around 6pm on 7th November as it was reported that Onew had developed a gentle, mild fever last night. He was sent to the hospital today and tests have shown that he has contracted swine flu.

Onew has been prescribed Tamiflu and is now back home resting.

The other three SHINee members, Key, Minho and Taemin were also tested for precaution, and neither of them have shown any symptoms of the illness fortunately.

So that explains why SHINee wasn't performing on Music Core as scheduled today.

So with Onew at home resting, it might look like SHINee will be performing as a 4-member group instead on the 8th November episode of Inkigayo. But it was revealed that Super Junior's leader, Leeteuk will take the place of Onew for tomorrow.

SHINee’s Onew is making a speedy recovery from H1N1

Diagnosed with the H1N1 virus late last week, SHINee’s leader Onew is currently making a speedy recovery.

SHINee’s management company SM Entertainment said in a phone interview this morning: “Onew’s body temperature has returned to normal, and he is now making frequent video calls to his good friends. He is in a good state of health as of now.”

The company also said: “Onew will be sent to the hospital on either the 12th or the 13th, to check if he has recovered fully from the virus.”

Before Onew, lead vocal Jonghyun had also fallen ill due to the H1N1 virus on the 3rd, and made a full recovery on the 6th. SHINee is currently promoting title track Ring Ding Dong as a 4-member group.

SHINee headed to the Philippines

According to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), popular boy group SHINee along with rap duo Mighty Mouth will be heading to the Philippines on November 27th to perform a free K-pop concert for the fans. From the article:

"For Pinoy K-pop fans, November is the season to be jolly. To cap the year-long celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and the Philippines, the Korean Embassy will hold on November 19-27 the Korean Cultural Festival, which will let Filipinos have a taste of Korean food, dance, music, theater, and arts.

But the most-awaited event in the week-long festival is the free K-pop concert scheduled on November 27. It will feature popular Korean front acts like boyband Shinee, jazz band Winterplay, and energetic rap duo Mighty Mouth. In an email message to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Blaise Regacho, Executive Assistant on Economic & Cultural Affairs for the Korean Embassy, said the concert was borne out of several petitions by avid K-pop fans in the country, to bring Korean stars to the Philippines. Good news for the K-pop fans in the Philippines. Hopefully SHINee's Onew is fully recovered from swine flu before he heads to the country. SHINee to perform as 4-member group on Music Bank

SHINee will be performing as a 4-member group on the 13th November episode of Music Bank.

Having seen Jonghyun and Onew come down with swine flu simultaneously, Super Junior's Yesung and Leeteuk came in as replacements on Music Bank and Inkigayo respectively last week.

The other three SHINee members Key, Minho and Taemin were also tested for precaution measures but thankfully, none of them tested positive for it.

But with Onew still not fit enough to perform, it was decided that SHINee will perform with just 4 members tonight. An official said, "Onew is recovering well from his illness but he's not fit enough to return to the stage as yet."

SHINee’s Onew finally cured from Swine Flu

After being diagnosed with swine flu, SHINee's Onew is now fully recovered! A representative of SM Entertainment had a phone call with Newsen today (19th KST), stating:

"It has been confirmed that Onew is now fully recovered from swine flu."

He was diagnosed with swine flu back on November 7th and got a checkup on the 13th, but he didn't fully recover as he still had a slight fever. He was finally confirmed as fully recovered after checking in the hospital on the 18th. Onew will be back with SHINee to perform on this week's Music Core on the 21st.

SHINee’s Key sings Gee on 1000 Songs Challenge

SHINee's funny guy, Key, sang Gee today on 1000 Songs Challenge. I remember seeing SHINee sing this on a radio show but at that time the video had bad quality and they didn't get to have much fun with it.

This time around, Key even did some of the choreography though he did look a little shy to show he's memorized the dance, which he did.



Jonghyun sang Through the ear, a heartwarming ballad, which he definitely pulled off.


And lastly, Key sang Kkong Ddari Sha Ba Ra, the weirdest song title I have ever heard of.

Wang Biho gets SHINee and MBLAQ

Wang Biho dissed two idol groups, SHINee and MBLAQ both in one night!

To MBLAQ he said, "Rain raised them? He should be taking care of himself first. MBLAQ has a lot of famous siblings. Just because you get more attention than other members doesn't mean you have it all. You might end up like Kim Hye Soo's brother."

He continued to nag the rookie group by saying, "Thunder, Rain named you Thunder? Fire, wind, water, heart, what are you, Captain Planet?"

To Lee Joon he said, "I can recognize you in Ninja Assassin because of your small eyes." To G.O. he said, "You look like an ahjussi(a middle-aged man in Korean). Do you think you look cool cause of your beard? You look old!"

He moved on to SHINee and revealed a Jonghyun lookalike.

He said, "SHINee is part of the comedian family. Jonghyun, you are the son of Kim Mi Hwa, right?"

He continued to talk about their song Ring Ding Dong, "Ring ding dong, ring ding dong, ring ding dong... Work harder on the lyrics. If you just used repetition every time, comedians could make so many jokes like that!"

Out of all the boys he dissed that night, I think G.O. got it the worst because he does resemble an ahjussi.

f(x) - "SHINee Sunbaenim Takes Care of Us The Most."

Not long ago, SHINee was still the maknae group of SM Entertinament, but now, they have cute dongsengs to boast about, and that is f(x).

In a recent interview with edaily SPN, f(x) conveyed their special relationship with SHINee. "Although all the sunbaes in the company treats us really well, but the SHINee sunbaes take especially good care of us."

With regards to SHINee, f(x) said "Because they are sunbaes that we are directly under, we spent our trainee days together." "As such, compared to other sunbaes, we seem to be a lot closer to them (SHINee)."

f(x) recently released their first single, and is currently promoting with their title track "Chu~♡", coinciding with SHINee's activities at the same time, and thus received a lot of help from SHINee in doing their activities conscientiously.

f(x) expressed that "When we are on the same stage as the SHINee sunbaes, we also have to greet them conscientiously, starting from such basic things like this, and also in many other areas, they will be reminding us all the time with no reservations. They will also tell us for radio broadcast or TV shows, what songs we should sing, and help us to choose songs, and also give advices as to what talent we should showcase."

Also, f(x) mentioned remembering the moment when SHINee received first place on Inkigayo. "When the SHINee sunbaes were saying their thank you speech, they also said to show more love to f(x), so we are really grateful and touched."

f(x) wishes to become a charismatic group like SHINee, and hopes that everyone can pay more attention to them in the future, and give more love and care to them.

f(x) is a 5-member girl group that debuted after in September after SM Entertainment last debuted SHINee. With Girl's Generation's member Jessica's sister, Krystal, child actor Sulli, they have become a hot topic with such unique charming members, and also received a lot of attention from the masses.

Taemin has been dianosed with swine flu

And it never ends... SHINee's Taemin is the latest victim to have contracted the notorious swine flu.

Taemin was rushed to the hospital on the 25th after developing fever and was diagnosed to be H1N1 positive on the 26th.

SM Entertainment stated:

Jonghyun and Onew have both recovered and now Taemin has fallen, with Key and Minho still safe. SM Entertainment seems to be plagued with swine flu, as three member from f(x) also tested postive for H1N1 recently but are recovering quickly.

UPDATE: SM Entertainment has just released a statement that Taemin's case of H1N1 is not serious. Take a breather fans, he will be fine in no time.
